Shirley’s Run funds to be presented to Animal Rescue

MGCA’s Shirley’s Run funds to be presented to Animal Rescue and Service Organization on February 25, 2014

At the MGCA monthly lunch / networking meeting, on February 25th, Ross Schriftman of Maple Glen will present checks to the Montgomery County SPCA, Bucks County SPCA and Spay and Save from the Shirley Schriftman Fund for Animals; a donor advised fund held by the Montgomery County Foundation. http://www.mcfoundationinc.org/ at the monthly meeting of the Maple Glen Community Association at the organizations monthly lunch meeting to be held at Brandywine Dresher Estates, 1405 Limekiln Pike in Dresher. The meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
The proceeds were raised from Shirley’s 5K Run and One Mile Dog Walk held last August in Maple Glen. http://www.shirleysrun.org.  The run and dog walk is an annual project of the Maple Glen Community Association http://www.mapleglen.org and honors the memory of Shirley Schriftman; long time resident and animal lover.  Mrs. Schriftman died in 2009 from Alzheimer’s.
“I am so thankful to our volunteers, sponsors, runners and dog walkers for their support.” said Ross Schriftman.  “Last year’s event was the most successful so far and we could not have done it without the great help we received from so many people.”
Reservations for the luncheon and meeting can be made at: http:/www.mgcarsvp.com.  For more information contact Ross Schriftman at 215-682-7075 or rfs270@aol.com.

Congratulations Ross Schriftman

Now, please read this important update regarding the Brandywine policy on lunches.. thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

As many of you know MGCA has met at the Brandywine Senior Living Facility for nearly 8 years now.  Their hospitality has been tremendous, and frankly, the association would not be where is today without Brandywine and its staff’s support. Their generosity and hospitality has been consistently excellent.

Effective with the January 28th 2014 lunch meeting, due to costs and policy changes at the facility, it will be necessary to ask for a $5 fee for both members and guests (non-dues paying attendees) for the lunch.  Even with this cost MGCA will be underwriting some of the cost of the lunch out of dues.  You will see this reflected on the registration page www.mgcarsvp.com

Given the new paradigm it is critical that everyone RSVP to the meeting to have an accurate count for lunch catering and fee accounting.

There will be NO increase or change in dues for 2014 and dues will remain only $25 for the year. These  costs will continue to support association initiatives and cover costs for the lunch and other meetings.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
