Upper Dublin Schools Superintendent Dr Deborah Wheeler was the featured speaker at the February 22 MGCA Networking lunch. Dr Wheeler presented and informative talk outlining circumstances at the federal, state, and local levels pertaining to the reauthorized federal education mandate now known as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2016 and the PA budget impasse, and their effects on the educational process for Upper Dublin. She also took questions from a full room for 15 minutes. Thank you Dr Wheeler.
This was the second time which Dr Wheeler made a presentation at an MGCA lunch, the prior one in February 2015. She mentioned that at the first meeting she was still relatively new to the district and now, a year later, she feels that she has a greater understanding about the direction and needs of UD schools.
Thank you to the great folks (and MGCA members) at Beneficial Bank for hosting the quarterly Community mixed / card exchange on February 25 2016. Special thanks to Sarelle Gross (bank manager and MGCA Treasurer and Heidi Fitzgerald (bank relationship manager) for coordinating the event. Here is a slideshow… enjoy…
